Ryan is primarily responsible for identifying investment opportunities, performing due diligence, and negotiating and monitoring West Coast portfolio investments.

Ryan joined Lighthouse in March 2002 as a Principal in the Menlo Park, California office. Prior to joining Lighthouse, Ryan served as a Senior Associate in Investment Banking with JPMorgan H&Q. Prior to that, Ryan served as a Summer Associate with the Technology Practice of McKinsey & Company. From 1994 to 1996, Ryan was a Corporate Finance Analyst with Hambrecht & Quist. From 1991 to 1994, Ryan was an outfielder in the Colorado Rockies minor-league baseball system.

While at Lighthouse, Ryan has led investments at Aruba, BeCeem, Entropic, Miradia, and Redline Networks. Ryan holds a BA in economics from Stanford University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
